Thailand Customer Installation Project
From Export Shipment to On-Site Installation and Commissioning

Following the delivery of a DC-6 continuous hank yarn dryer to Thailand, Shin Tong Yunn engineers visited the customer’s factory to provide on-site installation, commissioning and operating guidance. The six-chamber dryer will be used for drying wool hank yarn in the customer’s carpet yarn production process.

Project Summary

After the equipment arrived at the customer’s factory, our engineers completed the main installation checks, system commissioning and trial operation. Practical operating guidance was also provided to the customer’s personnel.

DC-6 continuous hank yarn dryer installation and commissioning at customer factory in Thailand

Installation Project Background

This installation is the next stage of the DC-6 hank yarn dryer shipment project completed earlier in 2026. The machine was manufactured and exported for a Thai customer producing wool carpet yarn.

In the customer’s production route, the dryer is positioned after hank yarn dyeing, washing and hydro-extraction. Wet hank yarn enters the continuous drying stage before proceeding to subsequent production operations.

Compared with a small-batch cabinet dryer, the DC-6 uses a continuous conveying arrangement. Hank yarn passes through multiple drying chambers in sequence, allowing the drying stage to connect with the customer’s existing dyeing and finishing process.

On-Site Installation and Technical Checks

After arriving at the customer’s factory, our engineer worked with the customer’s team to check the installation conditions and prepare the dryer for commissioning. The work covered the mechanical, electrical, heating and air-circulation systems required for stable operation.

1
Machine Positioning

The equipment position, chamber alignment and installation condition were checked before commissioning.

2
Conveying System Inspection

The transmission chain, yarn-carrying arrangement and operating direction were inspected.

3
Heating and Air Circulation

The heating section, circulation fans and airflow arrangement were checked according to operating requirements.

4
Electrical Control Check

The control cabinet, motors, fan operation, transmission control and temperature-related functions were inspected.

5
Trial Operation

The dryer was operated to check mechanical movement, chamber operation and overall system coordination.

6
Operator Guidance

Our engineer explained operating procedures, adjustment principles, routine checks and maintenance points.

Commissioning and Trial Operation

During commissioning, the engineer checked whether the different systems could operate together as designed. The transmission speed, fan operation, heating response and temperature-control functions were reviewed as part of the start-up procedure.

Particular attention was given to the continuous movement of the yarn-carrying system. Stable conveying is important because the residence time of the hank yarn inside the drying chambers is influenced by the transmission speed.

The machine completed its trial operation after the required installation and system checks. The customer’s operators were also shown how to adjust the operating settings according to the actual yarn material and moisture condition.

Operating Settings Must Match the Yarn Condition

A continuous hank yarn dryer does not use one fixed drying setting for every production batch. The appropriate temperature and conveying speed should be selected according to the actual production conditions.

  • Yarn material and fiber characteristics
  • Hank yarn count and yarn construction
  • Moisture remaining after hydro-extraction
  • Hank loading density on the carrying bars
  • Required production output
  • Target moisture condition after drying

For wool carpet yarn, operating settings should be adjusted progressively during initial production. Commissioning is not only used to start the machine, but also to help the customer understand how transmission speed, temperature and incoming moisture affect the drying result.

Technical Note: Actual drying capacity and operating parameters depend on the yarn material, initial moisture content, hank size, loading arrangement, heating conditions and target moisture after drying. Machine selection should therefore be based on the customer’s actual production data.

Technical Support Beyond Equipment Delivery

Exporting a textile machine is only one part of an overseas project. Correct installation, system checks and operator understanding are also important before the equipment enters regular production.

For this Thailand project, Shin Tong Yunn provided support from equipment manufacturing and export preparation through to on-site installation and commissioning. The engineer also communicated with the customer’s team regarding operating adjustments and routine inspection requirements.

After the on-site service, technical questions can continue to be handled through remote communication. This allows the customer to receive follow-up support when adjusting production conditions for different yarn specifications.

DC Series Continuous Hank Yarn Dryer

The DC series is designed for continuous drying of hank yarn after dyeing, washing and hydro-extraction. Depending on the yarn material, required output and factory process arrangement, the dryer can be configured with a suitable number of drying chambers and supporting systems.

Before recommending a model, we normally confirm the yarn material, hourly output, incoming moisture, heat source, factory voltage and available installation space.
